Conditions APRESA|TROOSTWIJK Art Prize 2025
The aim of the APRESA|TROOSTWIJK Art Prize is to encourage young artists and support them in their artistic career. The prize is awarded to graduating students from Dutch art academies who distinguish themselves through innovation, artistic originality and the expressiveness of their work. Apresa and Troostwijk invite students to submit their work. Three artists will be nominated, from which one winner will be chosen. The winner receives a cash prize of EUR 2,000, and Apresa and Troostwijk will purchase a work by the artist for the company collection.
Article 1: Conditions for participation
To be eligible for the APRESA|TROOSTWIJK Art Prize, the submission must meet all of the following criteria:
- The artist must be enrolled as a student and graduate from an accredited bachelor’s or master’s program at a Dutch art academy in the academic year 2024-2025.
- The work must be presented in a final exam exhibition in the spring or summer of 2025.
- The submission must fall within the discipline of fine art and be two-dimensional.
- The participant may not be older than 35 years of age at the time of registration.
- The participant must be resident in the Netherlands.
Article 2: Submission and registration
The application must be submitted no later than June 1, 2025 and must contain the following documents and files:
- Four high-resolution photos of the participating artwork (minimum 5MB per photo).
- An explanation of the submitted work
- Your motivation/vision as an artist.
- A current curriculum vitae (CV).
- Proof of registration at a Dutch art academy.
- A description of the medium and techniques used.
- The dimensions of the work.
- The year in which the work was created.
The entries must be submitted via the registration form on the website.
Article 3: Evaluation and selection
The entries will be assessed based on the following criteria:
- Innovative character of the artwork.
- Surprising and innovative artistic approach and quality.
- The strength and clarity of the theme of the artwork.
- The level of technical mastery of the material.
All entrants will receive a message about the assessment. The nominees will be invited to the award ceremony.
Article 4: Award ceremony and prize
- Three artists will be nominated for the prize. They will be notified of this no later than 7 August 2025 and will receive an invitation to the award ceremony.
- The award ceremony will take place on 17 September 2025 during a ceremony at a special location in Amsterdam.
- The winner of the APRESA|TROOSTWIJK Art Prize will receive a cash prize of EUR 2,000, and Apresa and Troostwijk will purchase an existing or future work by the winning artist.
Article 5: Jury and decision-making
- The jury consists of art experts and representatives of Apresa and Troostwijk.
- The winner is appointed based on a majority of votes.
- The jury’s decision is binding, no correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome.
Article 6: Intellectual property and promotion
- The participant retains the copyright on the submitted work.
- The organization reserves the right to use submitted works for promotional purposes in the context of the APRESA|TROOSTWIJK Art Prize.
- By participating in the art prize, participants agree to the use of images of their work for communication and publicity purposes of Apresa and Troostwijk.
Article 7: Liability
- By participating in the APRESA|TROOSTWIJK Art Prize, the participant accepts the terms of these regulations.
Article 8: Privacy statement
- Our privacy statement applies to the APRESA|TROOSTWIJK Art Prize 2025.
Article 9: Final provisions
- In all cases not provided for in these regulations, the organization of the APRESA|TROOSTWIJK Art Prize will decide.
