If the value of your personal possessions exceeds this limit, we recommend that you take out additional insurance for these items and have a valuation report prepared.<\/p>\n<p>A valuation report gives you peace of mind that the previously appraised value will be paid out if you should unexpectedly have to deal with the damage of your insured items.<\/p>\n<h3>Household Contents<\/h3>\n<p>Household contents are valued based on new-for-old value: the amount that would be needed to replace them with new items of the same type and equal quality.<\/p>\n<h3>Art, Antiques and Valuables<\/h3>\n<p>Art, antiques and valuables have an antiquarian or rarity value and are therefore not valued on the basis of the new-for-old value, but on the basis of the replacement value.<\/p>\n<h3>Jewelry and Watches<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.apresa.nl\/en\/specialized\/\">Jewelry<\/a> and watches also have an antiquarian or rarity value and are therefore also valued on the basis of the replacement value.<\/p>\n<h3>Home or Buildings<\/h3>\n<p>The appropriate basis for insuring a home or building is the reinstatement value. Unfortunately, we see that this is unknowingly disregarded all too often. Instead, historical cost price, building cost, or current value is used as the point of departure. The cost and timeline can then be discussed. This contributes to the efficiency of the valuation process and ensures control of the entire valuation process.<\/p>\n<h3>Execution<\/h3>\n<p>During the on-site valuation visit, the appraiser will inspect the home or building following a brief preliminary discussion. The appraiser usually starts with the most time-consuming items such as jewelry, watches, or silver.<\/p>\n<p>It is advisable for someone to be present to answer any queries the appraiser may have. The appraiser compiles the report after the visit.
